5 Tips to help get you into an MMA Gym

When people start a new membership at a gym, they come in with big fitness goals. These goals can easily be forgotten as soon as they walk through the front door. The high intensity from regular members can be overwhelming from someone who is just starting out. Many of the members are already friends with each other which can make new members feel left out. HOWEVER, there are many ways to combat these insecurities when starting at a new gym!

  1. Don’t Compare Yourself to Others!

Try not to compare yourself to other members. It can be discouraging to be surrounded by experienced members. Just remember, everyone starts as a beginner! With time you will be just as in shape and as skilled as everyone else!

  2. Be Open to Talking to New People!

Everyone might be best friends already, but remember, everyone starts off as strangers! Nothing is stopping you from saying “Hi,” and making new workout buddies!

  3. Remember Your Goals!

These gym jitters might make you think this was a bad idea. But remember why you signed up in the first place! You are here to accomplish your fitness goals, don’t let anything stand in your way!

  4. Have Fun!

The most important part of working out is to have fun! Don’t make workout become a chore! You are here because you want to be here. There’s no reason why you can’t have fun while burning those calories!
